Helping Each Other:
In combat, our significant others become a "band of brothers" but as wounded warriors wives and husbands, mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers; I think we experience a similar phenomenon.  We have to bond together, encourage each other, offer protection, support and understanding....provide an ear to listen, a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on or sometimes just someone we know has been through the same things we are going through and made it to the other side.  One of the most awesome parts of this phenomenon, that I have seen, is that by helping others to cope both parties get stronger.  Being able to focus on helping someone else, even if only for a little while, helps to broaden my perspective and changes my focus.  I realize that the world is not so small and that I am not the only one fighting this battle.  There have been many people who have ...   Read more...

Mac smiled the entire time we were in MT. His smile was contagious and warmed every heart that came into contact with him.  Watching him smile as he was helped up on the back of horse he was to ride past rushing waters up to Sioux Charlie Lake, could have lit up any dark room. He took it all in and lived each day the way we all should....Like it is our last. Fly fishing was another great ...   Read more...
