At 10:00 AM, I had a Police escort from my campsite up to Red Lodge.
I had called Steve Koser the night before and told him I still think the carburetor isn’t set right. I put new plugs in because I noticed the old ones were all black. We set the carburetor a little more lean. It will be easier to see if I set it right after I take off Thursday morning and travel a few miles. I did notice as we were heading into town that Johnabilt ran better, so I think we are getting it.
Had a great day today. I was set up by the Antique Mall at 12th and Broad Ave. Tim (Our Treasurer with OSC) flew out from Washington, DC, to assist me and help at our Meet and Great at the Elks Lodge. We had a steady crowd all afternoon and it was a great to have Tim there helping me share our Mission.
At 5 PM I moved down a couple of blocks and set the rig up in front of the Elks Lodge. Charlie made his favorite barbecue chicken and everyone said he has his secret recipe and will not share it with anyone. I love making barbecue chicken so now this is a challenge for me. Charlie is the one that came by my stand the other day and gave me a beautiful knife and said he will be making Tyson chicken the night of our meet and greet at the Elks Lodge. I shared with him, that I raised Tyson chickens for 30 years. So now I am thinking that maybe I will have a better chance to get his recipe.
Tim and I had a wonderful time at the meet and great. A lot of local folks stopped by and tourists as far away as 50 miles or more came to talk to us.
Charlie brought the chicken out and it sure smelled good. I am still hoping I can get that recipe!
I putted back to the campground a little exhausted, but it was a great day.
